1.Title:-  How  can I  improve  short  story Writing for class 5 ?

 

 

  1. Background of problem:

  In fact, it won't be   wrong   say that the students generally in public  school   have poor background in English In free writing skill specially while  teaching story writing. The condition of the pupils in my school is more or less   same.  In the primary level basic level in class 5   students. In the English language class in class-s, when I started to teach myself the same topic, I felt many complexities on this topic and planned to carry out an action research to get rid of the problem hoping   strengthen the writing proficiency of my pupils  specially in class fine. There are 20 students in my class

 

  1. Objectives

To make students be able to construct a readable story on the basis of given outlines.

 

  1. First strategies; - In my English language class I tell them to write a story   by looking  the  picture . There I have given some pictures on the blackboard. I paste it on the white board. They try to explain it. I collect and filed on the field and checked it. There I found that they have left vocabulary and   they use incorrect sentences while explaining or writing a story by using some contact order picture. Then I have found the error of them. I found that It is a problem while writing a Story. 20% pupils use appropriate vocabulary.

 

 5 . Process:

Process No A In class5 there are 20 students. I give them some pictures on the board and I tell them to tick the things that you see in the picture.

Process No: B when the tick the ticking answer is discussed in the class in whole class. If it is incorrect then I give them feedback and correct it timely.

Process No :C Next, I say to tick the words that you see on the correct order picture. They will tick the phrase words eg: holding  razer

Process No D: When they are able to tick the words by looking at the picture. Then I give some sentences to keep them in the correct order. They will correct it best. If needed I help to put it in correct order.

Process  No: E And I  tell them to write the sentence in order in exercise book five positive feedback was given to the students. Finally the process was done in the class for two days. The t I check their Writing Vocabulary test for writing.

Process No F when they are fluent in using vocabs to the Story writing then I give them guided words to explain the story. They try their writing. I check their ability to write the story the title and the moral also. I explain the story's title, background character, plot and theme of Story.

 

  1. The result of action research: - After the implementation of the S R condition of the student became good. The writing proficiency   has been improved and students started showing positive responses towards story developing. They will be careful to use appropriate vocabulary and use correct tense on the Story writing. They feel happier than before. The passive learner became active. They will improve   their writing ability on the story developing.

 

  1. Reflection -The research which is done in grade 5 students provided me/us a positive result to the English language teaching in writing Skill area. The process   which is very useful and childfriendly to the language class. It is done simple to complex stages or process this technique can be easily applied in other classes as well. I hope it will certainly promote the learning achievement to the learner.
