Teaching Topic:  The Wind and the Lea (Poem)

Teaching Item:  Comprehension

Specific Objectives:  The students will be able to:

• match the words with their meaning.

• answer the questions.

Instructional Materials: Power point

Teaching Learning Activities: The teacher motivates the class by summarizing the poem. after motivation, he presents the class in the following ways:

1.Shows the slides of the words in column 'A' with their meanings in column 'B'. eg.

    A                                            B

Meadow                                bedspread

Fluttering                              grass land

Content                           moving lightly and quickly

Coverlet                           satisfied

2.Divides the class into different groups and encourages each groups to match the words in column 'A' with their meaning in column 'B' discussing within the group.

3.After they finish, the teacher shows next slide of words with their meaning and asks the groups to judge whether they are right or wrong. e.g.

• Meadow --------------- grass land

• Fluttering ----------- moving lightly and quickly

• Content ------------ satisfied

• Coverlet ---------- bedspread

4.After completion of this activity, the teacher shows next slide where only questions are written.

5.Asks the students to write answer of these questions discussing within the group.

6.When they finish, the teacher shows the next slide having answer of these questions and asks the students to compare their answers to the answers given in the slide.
