Lesson Plan Model 9
Lesson Plan Model 9
Lesson Plan: 9
Teaching Topic: Grammar
Teaching Item: Conditional Sentence
Specific Objectives: Students wii be able to:
- differentiate three types of conditional sentences.
- generate the rules.
- use conditional sentences in appropriate situations.
Instructional Materials: Sentence cards, structure cards
Teaching Learning Activities: The teacher shows the sentence card and asks the students to go through the sentences written in the card. The sentences are:
- If you learn a lot of money, you will buy a car.
- If i were a bird, i would fly in the sky.
- If i had studied hard, i would have passed the exam.
The teacher encourages the students to focus on:
- Clauses
- Punctuation
- Tense in if clause and main clause
After analyzing the examples, the students try to generalize the rules. For generalizing the rules the teachers supports them. For example:
|
If Clause |
Main Clause |
|
If+ sub. +v1/v5 ......... |
Sub.+ shall/will/may/can + v1 ... |
|
If + sub. + v2 .......... |
Sub. + would/should/could/might + v1 ... |
|
If + had + v3 ......... |
Sub. + would/should/might/could+ have+ v3 ... |
After generalization of rules, the teacher gives some clues and asks the students to express those using conditional sentences. e.g.
1.If you find RS 10000 on the way to school, what will you do?
2.What would you do, if you passed the exam.
3.What had happened, if there hadn't been COVID-19? etc.
