The lion is called the king of beasts. He deserves the name as he possesses some virtues worthy of a king. He is very powerful. All the beasts are very afraid of him.

 

The lion is of brown colour. He has a big and round head with a shaggy mane on his neck. Like the cat and the tiger, the lion has a kind of pad under his feet. He has sharp claws and sharp teeth. The lioness gives birth to two to. four cubs at a time. She is very affectionate to them.

 

Lions are found in Africa and in some parts of Asia. The Africans lions are larger and more ferocious. The lion is a flesh-eater, but he is less ferocious than a tiger. He does not attack any one until he is hungry. He is noble-looking and has enough of strength. He kills his prey for himself. He is out for prey only at night. He remembers kindness done to him and repays it.

 

 A lion is easily tamed. He is easily taught to perform various feats. Lions show various feats in a circus. Lion, hunting is a dangerous pastime. His figures on crest and monogram stand for strength, dignity and forbearance.
